Sport uniforms - reviews please!

If you have any of the sports uniforms, please post a review.

AG doesn't make a uniform for the sport I used to play, so I am considering using pieces from either the soccer outfit or the basketball outfit and trying to make the rest. However, I can't decide which outfit to get.

I thought I read a post where someone suspected the current gymnastics outfit may be retiring because some replacement parts were no longer available. I wonder if that means all sports uniforms are being changed?

DD has the blue soccer uniform and the retired softball uniform. Both are great with lots of detail. She also has the current gymnastics uniform and loves it too. I'd like to get the basketball uniform just because I think it's cute [img]tongue.gif[/img] but there are always other things we want more.

We have one of the older soccer uniforms (the purple/orangy one with black shorts). It's nice. We have lots more on our wishlist.

I think that they do change the sports clothes every few years. You can also find them frequently on ebay--sometimes for good prices (under $12) and other times too high (IMO).

I have all of the retired Soccer uniforms and they are all really nice. They are made out of the same kind of material that soccer jerseys are made of with the nylon like shorts. The little shoes are too cute.

I have the current basketball outfit and it is just too cute. I love the bright colors and the bball. The shoes are like really nice dolly Nikes.

I also have both tennis outfits. The older one is crisp white and styled along the more traditional tennis styles. The newer blue and pink one is really fun. The rackets are really substantial for both. And the balls are like real tennis balls. The new outfit has fun pink ones. [img]biggrin.gif[/img]

Just because the replacement parts are almost gone, I don't think that has a bearing on whether an outfit will retire soon. I think the parts are just highly loose-able, and also just fun accessories to buy if you don't want the whole outfit. Since the gymnastics outfit is red,white, and blue, and we are two days away from the olympics, I highly doubt it will retire in the next few months.

In terms of sports outfits, I have the yellow and the blue soccer outfits, and they are both pretty cute. The drawback is that they snag really easily if they come in contact with the velcro. What sport is it you used to play? I'm guessing maybe Rugby or Lacrosse? Both of thise sports are becoming much more popular for girls, so you might put in a request for a uniform next time you call AG. If they get enough requests, they might actually make one. [img]biggrin.gif[/img] I keep asking for a new Girl Scout uniform, and a CS rep told me that it's been requested enough that it showed up on their monthly report listing the most popular requested outfits. I've got my fingers crossed!

Also--the first soccer uniform (I think--yellow shirt with black and purple striped shorts) had a long sleeved shirt. I just thought I would mention that in case that would be good for your uniform. There have been a lot listed lately--at good going prices.
